Virgin Hotels Just Added One of the Best $5 Blackjack Games in Vegas

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas has quietly rolled out one of the strongest blackjack bets in Vegas, offering a ruleset that stands out even among off‑Strip casinos catering to value-hunters.

The blackjack specialists at VegasAdvantage.com claim that Virgin now offers $5 blackjack around-the-clock and that the game is organized much more freely than most low-limit options because:

  • The cards are dealt from a real shoe (not a continuous shuffling machine)
  • Blackjacks pay the full 3-to-2 (you win $7.50 on a $5 bet — not the stingy 6-to-5 you see at all cheap Strip tables)
  • You can split any pair (including aces) up to four times.

Virgin also offers three-to-two payouts for $10, $15, and $50, as well as a unique, extremely difficult-to-find version of Free Bet Blackjack.

Although a number of off-Strip casinos, such as Palms, Gold Coast, The Orleans, and South Point, offer $5 blackjack, Virgin's combination of hand-dealt shoes, generous re splitting, and specialty games with 3–to-2 payouts makes it one of the most aggressive rule packages in its tier.

Additional Improvements

Virgin also increased the odds on craps from the typical 3-4-5 structure to 10x, according to Vegas Advantage, matching the best odds currently offered in Las Vegas on a daily basis. Crapless Craps received the same treatment. Most tables are $10 or $15 minimums.

A new bank of four machines next to the sportsbook with some of the best pay tables in town helps video poker players win as well:

  • 10/6 Double Double Bonus (pays back 100.06% with perfect play)
  • Plus, several other games that return 99% or better.

These machines come in dollar, 50-cent, and quarter denominations, however they don't receive the standard multipliers and earn fewer loyalty points.

* Card Counter Caution

Don't expect Virgin to be unaware of how easily a good advantage player may defeat its new blackjack. Because the tiny floor size makes it easier for pit bosses and surveillance to detect and monitor card-counters, those who wager in ways that often beat the house edge can anticipate a shorter leash.
